Fogler is, as always, outstanding and I remain convinced that he's destined to be a major star. The story in "Take Me Home Tonight" is pretty standard for a romantic comedy. You have your sort of dorky main character who is in love with the hot girl . And of course the main character have a strange, extreme sidekick . Matt Franklin is given a chance to hook up with his high school crush, but of course things escalate out of proportions as the evening progress.
And it's also a hoot, too - largely thanks to Dan Fogler and the amusing cameo appearances. In this week's roundup of film news and new trailers, get the first... Our editors select 10 interesting films headed to theaters next month,... In the 1984 yearbook, there are several anachronisms. There's a clip of A-ha's video for "Take On Me", which wasn't released until 1985. There's a photo of ALF, a video clip of the California raisins, and a photo of four girls with the inscription "walk like an Egyptian".

Rest of the cast fit their roles perfectly, with a huge cry to Chris Pratt and Dan Fogler. It's a romantic comedy plus a road trip with some family drama. And, sadly, that execution is only adequate, not great. The acting, the cinematography, even the story are fine. My husband and I saw this movie at the Savannah Film Fest, and we thought it was excellent.

I watched the preview for this one and really thought it would be a little boring. This movie takes two proved formulas and puts them together. The acting was OK and the budget for this was not the best but it was a great movie that is better then a lot of the high budget movies.

Along the way to the party, Barry steals a fancy convertible from the car dealership that just fired him for dishonesty. Now, the trio are in danger of running afoul of the law. In the film, the year is 1988 and Topher Grace plays recent college graduate Matt Franklin. Matt is extremely smart and went to MIT, but upon graduating moved back home with his parents and instead of pursing his career is underachieving as a video store clerk.
I always hate this kind movie that trying to make everybody look like heavily on drugs. "Take Me Home Tonight" is an entertaining feel good comedy that works mainly because of the chemistry between Topher Grace and Teresa Palmer. The talented Teresa Palmer is very gorgeous and Anna Faris is more restrained than usual.
IT’S CHRISTMAS AGAIN Creator Says She Wanted to ‘Include Jesus’ in Holiday Movie
Everything from "Straight Outta Compton" to "Don't You Want Me?" is covered. It's a nice, refreshing, unbiased blend of hits that defined the eighties. Also Im not going to get into the movie itself but its your classic feel good movie similarly to Breakfast Club, 16 Candles etc. First Im a huge fan of Topher Grace since That 70s Show and In Good Company. He gives an excellent performance and along with the rest of the quality cast, the acting is just incredible. Also, it has an excellent 80s soundtrack, and even a message, which I won't give away so nothing is spoiled.
Her story has been widely followed across the nation since Medina's appearance on American Idol. If your review contains spoilers, please check the Spoiler box. Please do not use ALL CAPS. Four years after graduation, an awkward high school genius uses his sister's boyfriend's Labor Day party as the perfect opportunity to make his move on his high school crush.
Grace and Faris on the other hand really had great chemistry and add a unique dynamic to the typical drunken loser genre. Take Me Home Tonight isn't going to win any awards, but it was a lot more entertaining than I thought it would be. All of the characters in Take Me Home Tonight are likable. They're funny, they get some sharp lines of dialogue, and their problems feel real.
Topher Grace, Anna Faris, and Dan Fogler all shine here. Michael Biehn steals all the scenes that he is in. I don't write many reviews, but this movie deserved one. I find myself wanting to multitask during most movies, but I ended up glued to the screen watching the subtle changes of expression on the actors' faces that really brought it across. Or that Matt’s equally smart twin sister Wendy would even thinkof accepting a marriage proposal from a thick-headed party boy . Nothing about this film is completely overblown or stands out to make this film completely memorable.
Featuring Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler, and Teresa Palmer, the film has a strong cast that's able to bring the comedy. The '80s aesthetic is brilliantly done, and completely encapsulates the energy and style of the period without being gaudy or meta. Additionally, the soundtrack is outstanding and gives the film personality.

Matt is a recent college graduate and current employee of SunCoast Video who's living way below his potential. His parents keep nagging him to try something of value, but he can't figure out what he's truly passionate about so in result, he tries nothing. His mediocre life becomes all the more interesting when he tells Tori , his high school dream girl, that he works at the L.A. She is so impressed with his "success" that she invites him to a crazy end-of-summer party and that's where the real mischief begins. Anyone who loved Sixteen Candles back in the 1980s will love TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT, too.
Grace had a lot of involvement including crafting the story and producing the movie. The cast is loaded with other great actors in comedy including Anna Faris, Chris Pratt and Michael Biehn. However it is the young Teresa Palmer that really steals the scenes that she is in. Still Take Me Home Tonight is an underwhelming product. The 1980's is captured pretty well with the setting and the soundtrack but it is still a clichéd rom-com that really has nothing new to offer. There is very little humour and the story is just so generic that it is almost immediately forgettable.
Take Me Home Tonight just wants to be set in a period more loved. Matt's cynical twin sister, Wendy Franklin , and his lovable yet hopeless best friend, Barry Nathan , are his partners in crime for the night. The evening becomes a rather indulgent one filled with grand theft auto, drugs, rock 'n' roll, a marriage proposal, a giant tin ball and a proper '80s dance-off.
